Adv. Sharon Kohane, Partner and Head of the White-Collar Crimes Department, was invited by the Chairman of the Israel Bar Association, Adv. Avi Himi, to participate in a panel at the session of the Eighth Court Conference of the Israel Bar Association on the topic: ‘”Cleaning Stables”: Integrity and Corruption in the Public Service’, under the leading of the hostess Adv. Tamar Almog, journalist and reporter for Legal Affairs of Israel Broadcasting Corporation KAN 11.
Kohane, former senior in Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office for Taxation and Economics, emphasized the importance of fighting government corruption, but pointed to the need not to use the criminal instrument as a default, but as a residual measure, emphasizing the shorter duration of investigations to strengthen public confidence in the system.
