AYR is one of the leading firms in the field of planning and construction law. The Planning and Construction Department is headed by Adv. Yacov Cohen, who is one of the founding partners of the firm. The team in his department has very rich experience in assisting complex licensing proceedings. The Planning and Construction Team continuously assists with hundreds of licensing proceedings to obtain building permits for large companies that require licensing proceedings all around the country, and it assists these companies from the stage of drafting the applications for permits and examination of the plans, assistance and representation in objection proceedings, appeals, etc.

The Planning and Construction Team also assists some of the leading companies and developers in the country in licensing very large scale commercial and residential buildings and has had great success in this area.

The Planning and Construction Team has many years of experience in criminal proceedings relating to the various aspects of planning and construction. The Team assists and represents many clients against whom indictments have been filed under Chapter J of the Planning and Building Law, 5725-1965, including representation in proceedings submitted against senior office bearers of leading companies in Israel.

The matters that we have handled include:

  • Representation of clients of the firm in all planning instances, including the various appeals committees, including the appeals committee adjacent to the National Planning and Building Council.
  • Close assistance and handling of hundreds of permit applications around the country, including communications infrastructure, technology infrastructure, quarries, fuel stations, etc., including the submission of objections. 
  • Assistance with urban renewal projects opposite the various planning authorities. 
  • Handling of claims in administrative instances, and representation in the High Court of Justice, and representation in criminal proceedings under Chapter J of the Planning and Building Law.
