This evening, the Golden Awards ceremony of the Israel International Young People Award Organization was held; the program was founded in Britain in 1956 by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, with the purpose of providing young people with essential life skills to enhance their growth and self-development, regardless of origin, religion or background.

The program operates in 130 countries around the world, and is attended by over a million young people annually. Thousands of young people participate in the organization’s activities in Israel, from all walks of life, Jews and Arabs, secular, religious and new immigrants alike.  As part of the activities, which are focused on peripheral settlements, the young people gain experiences, face challenges and strengthen their self-confidence, so that they enter adult life with faith in their abilities and skills to better themselves and their communities.

The festive occasion was attended by Israeli President, Mr. Yitzhak (Bugi) Herzog; British Ambassador Mr. Neil Wegan; Minister of Culture and Sports, Mr. Chili Trooper; Minister of Immigration and Absorption, MK Pnina Tamanu Shata and Adv.
