Claim for Breach of Contract Struck Out After Statement of Claim Cited Case Law That Does Not Exist in the “Nevo” Database Following Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court (Hon. Judge Eran Gelbard) ordered the strike-out of a claim for breach of contract seeking approximately NIS 29,947 and a mandatory injunction for future payments, after it was found that the statement of claim included references to case law that does not exist or could not be located, and citations that did not comply with the applicable rules.

The Court determined that six of the judgments cited do not exist in the “Nevo” legal database, and that the plaintiffs had not attached the judgments referenced in the statement of claim, instead submitting alternative case law.

The defendants were represented by Adv. Gabi Michaeli and Adv. Asaf Skat from our firm.
