Adv. Helit Simchoni, Head of Labor Law Department at our firm, participated in the annual conference of the Bar Association in a panel on ‘Changes and Trends in Labor Relations in an Age of Economic and Social Uncertainty’.

The session was moderated by Adv. Yael Dolev, Co-Chair of the Labor Law Forum at the Israel Bar Association, and was attended by the Honorable Judge, Ms. Varda Wirth Livna, President of the National Labor Court, and senior figures from leading law firms in the economy.

In the session, Helit referred to issues arising from the world of work that is becoming global, as well as the issue of the “proper forum”, ie – in which forum should a lawsuit between the employee and the employer in the global age be clarified: in Israel or in the country where the employee actually worked, “Facilitating the access of employees to the courts should adapt to the new world of work and the circumstances in which employees sometimes have an advantage over their employers. The principle that the court considers the weak side – should be given the appropriate weight according to the circumstances of each case.”
