Our firm successfully represented Maccabi Haifa Football Club in complex employment litigation that lasted approximately three years, following a claim of more than NIS 1.4 million filed against the club.
In its judgment, the Labour Court accepted only a small portion of the claim, awarding NIS 30,000 in respect of a single claim, together with moderate legal costs. The vast majority of the claim was dismissed.
The Court adopted the club’s position on the principal issues in dispute, holding, among other things, that the employment agreement was valid and enforceable, that the salary slips accurately reflected the employment relationship and were not fictitious, and that most salary deductions had been made lawfully. The Court further determined that the employment relationship had ended by mutual agreement rather than by dismissal, leading to the rejection of the claimant’s principal allegations, including claims for wrongful dismissal, severance pay, salary differentials and additional employment-related benefits.
This outcome reflects the careful and strategic management of complex litigation over several years, supported by a strong factual and evidentiary foundation that was accepted by the Court.
We are proud to continue advising and representing Maccabi Haifa Football Club and to have secured this significant result on its behalf.
The club was represented by Adv. Shani Marom, Partner, and Adv. Gal Bergel of AYR’s Employment Department.
