Adv. Eli Eshel, a partner and head of the urban renewal field at our firm, participated in the annual Dun’s100 forum in the field of urban renewal, where senior officers in the field discussed the new legislative changes, proposed and desired, and proffered applicative ideas for removing barriers that are preventing more extensive construction in the urban renewal sector in Israel.

Adv.Eshel stated that despite criticism of the difficulties in the sector, urban renewal has come a very long way and should be regarded favourably: “Thanks to legislation, the entities established and public awareness, urban renewal is constituting a far greater portion of building beginnings and of the real estate world than before. In order to effectuate bureaucracy and dispel the uncertainty in the field, complimentary legislation shoud be made for the various alternatives to evacuation and rebuild (TAMA 38 and the Shaked alternative), which will probably be variations on the existing evacuation and rebuild, through uniform legislation for the entire field instead of various short term solutions for the different alternatives.”
