Adv. Vered Halperin, a partner in our Real Estate and Urban Renewal Department, explains in a feature published in Globes what property owners should know when real estate assets are damaged during hostilities, and how to act properly vis-à-vis the Property Tax Compensation Fund of the Israel Tax Authority.
In the feature, she outlines the key practical steps from the very first stage – from reporting the damage, through accurate documentation of the impact (which can significantly assist in advancing the process), to selecting the appropriate claim track and managing the process vis-à-vis the government assessor.
One of the central tools that may assist property owners is the availability of a fast-track procedure, as Adv. Halperin notes:
“In cases suitable for the fast-track route (direct damage not exceeding the prescribed threshold – up to NIS 30,000), it is possible to submit an online claim together with documentation and receive handling and payment within a relatively short timeframe, sometimes even without waiting for the full standard appraisal process.”
