Tu B’Shvat is one of the most Israeli holidays, and is mainly about the flora of our country.
One of the holiday traditions is the eating of fruits, and especially the seven species indigenous to the Land of Israel – for whch we say blessings.
Another tradition of the holiday is the planting of trees and shrubs throughout the land; this tradition preceded the establishment of the State of Israel, with planting constituting a symbol of the nation’s reawakening and revival of settlement in the Land of Israel.
No matter what, on this new year of trees, we celebrate our love of this Land of Israel, our existence and our continuity. Especially during these times.
