Adv. Eli Eshel, a partner in our firm’s Real Estate department, participated in the Dun’s 100 forum of prominent jurists in the field of urban renewal, which was attended by leading firms in the field.

The forum participants discussed issues on the field’s current agenda, including the effect s of war, the status of the Government Authority for Urban Renewal, shortening and bettering procedures, regulations, etc.

Adv. Eshel, who heads our firm’s Urban Renewal field, related to the effect of local elections on the sector, and said that “there is no doubt that in many cities the public has decided to replace the policy of supporting urban renewal, whereas in others the opposite prevails.  During a period of war with the beginnings of a financial crisis (or more than that), uncertainty increases, and the initiators of urban renewal have to recheck themselves in terms of planning where and how to proceed, and to finance their steps”. In a positive tone he added that “on the one hand, the recovery that has occurred over recent months is most certainly encouraging creating opportunities now – at a time when many entrepreneurs are having financial difficulties, to form “a new generation” of even stronger and more creative entrepreneurs – and to improve the market.”
