Adv. Yaniv Dekel, Partner in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, recently appeared on the radio programme “Everything is Justiciable” on Reshet Bet, where he discussed the challenges that artificial intelligence poses to the law of evidence.
In the interview, Adv. Dekel emphasised that while technology is advancing at a rapid pace, the law of evidence is experiencing a form of necessary regression – due to the growing ease with which images, videos, and even signed documents can be forged. He argued that evidentiary rules must be tightened once again, returning to stricter admissibility standards and even preserving original physical documents “as in the past, in a safe” – or alternatively, developing technological-legal solutions that keep pace with innovation.
He further noted that this issue is expected to engage courts, legislators, and practitioners for many years to come.
