מחלקת התכנון והבנייה מלווה מאות הליכי תכנון ורישוי מורכבים בתחום התשתית, המגורים, המסחר והעסקים. המחלקה מייצגת גופים, חברות ויזמים מהגדולים במשק בהיקפים גדולים ובפריסה ארצית, ביניהם שתי חברות מובילות בתחום התקשורת.
בנוסף לאמור, צוות המחלקה מעורב באופן פעיל בהליכי חקיקה בנושאי תכנון ובנייה, לרבות בתקנות שעת חירום בתחום התכנון והבנייה.
